Hi there!
I’m glad you found my little spot on the web.
My name’s Alex and I am the artist curator behind the blog. I love rustic and vintage aesthetics. It is a dream of mine to become good at capturing both through art. Alongside these two styles, I also enjoy elegant, classic designs and patterns.
I sell my art and designs under 2 creative brands:
- The Vanishing Brushstroke
- Pretty Cosy Chai
Pretty Cosy Chai is slightly more sophisticated and more graphic design and pattern oriented whereas The Vanishing Brushstroke is more focused on rustic and vintage drawings and illustrations.
The Vanishing Brushstroke blog is, first and foremost, my art learning diary. It may seem a little messy but such is the nature of the creative journey of an artist designer in the making. One never starts with a clean and well defined path. The journey of finding one’s voice, one’s longings and one’s direction is a messy one to say the least.
The blog is my art learning companion and diary. It serves as a point of refence, a log of my progress and I hope it will provide some value to other creatives or aspiring ones through time.
When I don’t blog about art, I may blog about cooking experiments, vintage books I may have read, I love curating rustic and vintage things online including craft supply, I love talking about self-care, etc. It’s a glimpse into what the artist enjoys in her spare time.
5 Things I love
- Beautiful mother nature
- A cup of chai latte
- Getting cosy
- Making money online
- The elegance of the past eras when it gets to artistic creations (shop signage, logos, magazine and book covers, ornamental art and wood work, etc)
Though I was born with a creative heart, it wasn’t until late in life that I was able to follow that creative fire. Today I do my best to embrace it to the full.
